Hello and thank you for making the Hero Bracelets possible for all families of the fallen.
We would be honored to accept a bracelet in honor of my son SPC Martin Wilson Kondor.
Martin was inspired to join the Army during his senior year in high school when the attack on
the Twin Towers and Washington D.C. took place. He trained in Fort Knox as a tanker and
was stationed in Vilseck Germany with the big Red One, 1st 63rd of the First Infantry Division.
Martin volunteered for a high risk personal security detachment and ultimately became a gunner
in a Humvee convoy. Martin was deployed to Iraq near Baqubah just as the insurgent uprising began
and encountered many firefights in a short time. He was the kind of guy that made others feel better
just by being around. He gave 110 % to his job and enjoyed helping others.
Martin was killed at the age of 20 by an IED. His friends presented the family with a shadow box with
this quote from Winston Churchill that is fitting. “He toiled for peace but never the less was a man of action
whom no fears could turn aside from the path of duty.”
