Sarah Palin wearing her Deployed HeroBracelet at a recent event.
[/caption]
In some recent photo’s of Sarah Palin, we noticed she’s wearing her Deployed HeroBracelet bearing her son’s name, Track Paliin. Track is serving in the Middle East right now.
Back in 2008, we had heard that both Sarah Palin’s son and now Vice President Joseph Biden’s son were heading off on deployements, so we made them both a set of Deployed HeroBracelets with their son’s names on the bracelets. Our way for thanking them both for having son’s in the military. We actually got a very nice call from Senator Biden’s office, thanking us for the HeroBracelets. And now we’re quite proud to see Sarah Palin wearing her HeroBracelet.
(Since this went up, there has been a lot of controversy about the stories that have cropped up online. The basic facts are simple. We sent Gov Palin and Sen Biden Deployed HeroBracelets to honor thier sons. That’s all! They obviously love their sons and were happy to receive the HeroBracelets. With both Palin and Biden, I believe they are showing thier son’s love and respect, not making a political statement. If you’ve got a son or daughter serving our country, you’d probably feel the same way!)

I thought that particular style of bracelet was reserved for survivors of armed services personnel who were killed while serving. I appreciate Track Palin’s service to his country but I think Mrs Palin is sending out the wrong message by wearing this particular style. It’s confusing at best.
(Thanks for your note. The Bronze colored bracelet is reserved to denote the soldier or Marine is deployed.)

To pluralize “photo” or “son,” just add an “s.” No apostrophy.

Sarah Palin received this bracelet as a gift from the manufacturer. She did not know the meaning of the color, but wears it with pride for her son serving in the military. With so much bad behavior by so many politicians I am amazed at how petty people can be – let’s talk about John Edward’s love child or the Gov Stanford’s Argentinian “hiking” buddy – something really juicy. I couldn’t care less what color Sarah Palin’s bracelt is.
Jeff
I’m not doubting the basics of your story, but Governor Palin’s son did not deploy in 2004, when he was only 15.
Misty
Umm I think you mean 2008 instead of 2004.

(Thanks! I fixed it)

Cheryl – her bracelet is clearly bronze, not black. Look at the pic with her and Walters.

Where are the bracelets manufactured ?
(All HeroBracelets are made 100% in the USA!)

Jon– If you’re going to criticize how folks use an apostrophe, you should learn how to spell it.

Maggie for the win!

Just another bitch from those who love to hate. If I were Sarah, I would pray every night that these “people” drop dead but she is a much better person than I am and probably prays positively for them. I am totally sick of all the made up crap and hype which is used to try to destroy her…but she just comes on stronger and better. BTW, she is not necessarily my favorite person but she has been treated dispicably by the MSM.
(ALL. We have a strict policy of NOT getting involved in politics in any way. We’re here to support our military and their families and getting involved in politics is NOT how you do that! A lot of bad information has been floating around about this and our goal has been to just get the facts out. HB)

Today’s grammar lesson: the correct answer is plural possessive: “…with their sons’ names on the bracelet.” The apostrophe goes after the s to denote more than one son and that the names are those of the sons.
Moving on to the actual issue of this post, it is unbelievable how her enemies will look so hard to find anything to denigrate Sarah Palin. I hope we are not the same way to those whose political positions and philosophies we oppose.
Elizabeth
Judith, I hope you don’t mean that. How can we criticize them for being hateful if we display the same behavior?
Just sayin’.
The deployed hero bracelet is a wonderful idea. I wonder if Joe Biden wears his?

Maybe the compay should change the bracelet from bronze, (almost black) to brass, so there is no room for error on which is what.
As for the grammar related to son, son’s, sons’, there are women being killed there too, so to be correct, perhaps the term would be “family member.” I think they deserve that respect:
“Over 206,000 have served in the Middle East since March 2003, most of them in Iraq; and over 600 have been wounded and 104 have died in Iraq alone, according to the Department of Defense. In Iraq, one in ten troops is a woman.” http://www.thenation.com/doc/20090518/benedict
Maybe there should be a special pink bacelet, especially for the women who served, were wounded, are died in service.
(The Deployed HeroBracelet is very different from the black Memorial HeroBracelet. The photograph doesnt really show the color, but in person its very easy to tell the difference. As for the English… My bad!)
Contessa_Sharra
No problem on the grammar, I am just big on women getting full credit for the work they do. And BTW, that should have been “have died in service” (oooo I hate it when there is no “preview” or “edit” button!)

I am sick to death of people deciding to make issues over the jewelry that a politician wears, their hair plugs, and other petty, ignorant, stupid, idiotic things that don’t matter a hill of beans in the grand scheme of things. Palin and Biden are BOTH to be commended for having sons willing to serve in the United States Military, and my hat is off to both of them. I don’t like Joe Biden, never have, never will. I think I’m the only person in the country who remembes 1988 when he ran for the Dem nomination and quoted everyone but himself, yet gave himself credit for what he said. I also believe that Sarah Palin being nominated for the Republican ticket in 2012 will insure that we have four more years of nObama.
That being said, let’s quit arguing about bracelets, hairplugs, teleprompters and everything else, and figure out what got this country into the mess that it’s in the last 20-30 years and fix it otherwise in the next 20 years we will be a Chinese colony because they already own us.
(HERE HERE! There are too many real problems to play politics.)
George
To everyone talking about this or that bracelet color meaning something, I don’t know where you came up with that. You act like it is a law or something. Even if she were wearing a black one, what is it to you? MYOB.

Sarah Palin SHOULD happily wear a reminder that her son got out of doing jail time for crimes committed, and ran to the recruiter instead.
