Sgt. Anthony D. Matteoni, 22, of Union City, Michigan, died October 1, 2010, while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Sgt. Matteoni was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
