Lance Cpl. Scott A. Lynch, 22, of Greenwood Lake, New York, died October 6, 2010, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Lance Cpl. Lynch was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
