I want to thank you for coming to HeroBracelets.org.

We started this project in December of 2004 and could never have imagined what would happen once we launched the HeroBracelets.org site. The first week the site was online, we had a handful of orders and email every day. We were pretty excited that people would actually find the site and want to help by wearing the name of a Soldier or Marine on their wrist. But within only a couple weeks, a reporter found us and mentioned HeroBracelets.org in a short story about bracelets.

The next day we had 75 orders come in. Then 150 the day after that. Within the next month we were contacted by dozens of reporters from all over the world. The day we were on FOX News, we had 1600 orders come in.

It was chaos. We were not prepared for anything like this. We actually had to stop taking orders on the Web site in order to catch up. We were getting up to fifteen pounds of mail a day.

In short, people came out of the woodwork and it put everyones life and job on hold for a couple months while we upgraded the entire process to be more efficient.

In that time we:

- Rebuilt the site and upgraded the online ordering system

- Went through three versions of the bracelet itself. The latest version MUCH nicer than our first version.

- Added Deployed HeroBracelets (for those currently serving)

- Added Purple Heart HeroBracelets (with the blessing of the Military Order of The Purple Heart).

- Added the entire Vietnam database

- Added the entire Iraq/Afghanistan database (which we update daily).

- Heard from literally thousands of supporters, families and military personnel.

- Shipped out over 25,000 HeroBracelets worldwide.

- Started Project Appreciation. It's our effort to be able to send a pair of custom made HeroBracelets to every family in America that has lost a member to the war.

It has been an amazing journey by any measure.

As time goes on, we will be sharing some of the stories that are happening every day and something about the people we meet through this project.

It is our hope that all those in our armed services stay strong and stay safe, doing what they believe in.
