Help adopt a platoon of Marines.
Through an old friend in Irvine, California, I learned about a project his police department has launched. Here's the info.

FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE
CALIFORNIA STATE LODGE
ORANGE COUNTY, LODGE FIVE
92 Corporate Park #C-103
Irvine, CA 92606
The City of Irvine has adopted a Marine Battalion as a show of support for the tireless work of our men and women serving our County in IRAQ.
Wanting to do more, our Lodge looked for ways to positively and directly impact the lives of the young men and women who are deployed to the Middle East. We discovered that a former Irvine Police Explorer Captain had started a charity and was sending Care Packages to Marines assigned to the 1st Battalion 12th regiment in Iraq. This remarkable young lady, a Senior at the University of Hawaii started "Compassion in Combat"Âť and had already assembled and sent more then 2 dozen care packages using her own resources. She lamented she wanted to do more, and had collected the names and addresses of hundreds of Marines that wanted to be part of the program.
We can't imagine a more worthy cause then supporting our young men and women in combat and we need your help. 100% of your donations will go into making and sending care packages to Marines in Iraq. The packages contain supplies that make life bearable over there such as protein and snack bars, powdered drink mixes, sporting goods and personal care items. Recently we had a Marine ask for running shoes and we've had other requests for soccer balls and air pumps to inflate their existing equipment. The project keeps growing but it needs your support.
Please send your donation to F.O.P - Compassion, 92 Corporate Park C165, Irvine CA 92606.
