My Hero. My Friend. Ssg, Eliv Bourdon
Ssg, Eliv Bourdon was my mentor, my friend and a great man. we served together in B co 1-22Inf 4ID from Feb 1998-Aug 2001 when I left active duty. He was my section Sgt when I was a bradley driver for my PltSgt and a gunner for my Plt Ldr. He taught me everything I know about the military and helped prepare me for the day I deployed in 2004 with Cco 2-142INf 56BCT 36ID to Iraq. While in training at Ft. Hood, we stayed in CAV barracks. I found out 2 weeks after his funeral that We stayed next to the chapel where the services were held and that I had lost a friend. I got a hero braclet from you Chris and we talked about you wearing his braclet as well. When my first one broke after I returned from Iraq, You sent me a new one and I still have both braclets. I decided to get the ink done in memory. It has the info from the braclet with respects that I added his bronze star and purple heart between the clasp. the pictures attached show.
