Our Hero, Lance Corporal Leon Bertrand Deraps.

Lance Corporal Leon Bertrand Deraps United States Marine Corps Leon was born at our Jamestown home on a bitter cold morning Nov. 13, 1986, our “Bonus Baby”, strong with a sweet disposition.  As our “Caboose”, he was protected and raised by his two older brothers who taught him take a punch and get up grinning, his three bossy sisters who fought over the little guy too small to win an argument, his veteran Mom who believes in meals to set your clock by, taught him the patience to pick a row o...

HeroBracelets.org would like to send a small token of our appreciation to every Gold Star Family in America. We’re not sure if we can actually do this, but we’re going to try. Initially, we’ll give a free HeroBracelet to the first 150 Gold Star Families that write us. If we’re able, financially, to continue to give a bracelet to every Gold Star Family in America, we will. HeroBracelets.org has no financial backing and no full time employees and we operate by word of mouth. We started HeroBrac...

A great idea!

I just ordered a bracelet and expect to order more, but you asked me to write you about our soldier. Army Spec. Kevin Hardin was a medic in Palm Beach County (Jupiter) Florida when he enlisted. He was serving in Iraq tending to the wounded when he was injured by a rocket-propelled mortar aimed at his Humvee. He was very seriously injured, and among other things, suffered a sever brain injury. He has been at Walter Reed Hospital for nearly a year now. Two months ago, he returned home for the f...
