My memorial bracelet.

Dear Hero Bracelets, I ordered one of your memorial bracelets a few months back in a friend's name. And the other day, something occurred to me. This simple memorial bracelet, to me, is a more powerful memorial than any of the big buildings or sites in Washington, DC. It's my personal memorial, that I see every day. I think about him a dozen times a day and that's priceless to me. Thank you Hero Bracelets for giving me a way to remember someone that means the world to me. Cathy Barto

In memory of my Heroes.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Army Sgt. William Fleming can still see the nine paratroopers hovering over him after the anti-tank mine blew out his eardrums and ripped him with shrapnel last November. "When I got blown up, every one of them came and checked on me," Fleming says, his voice quivering as his hands move to cover his face. Now, every one of them is gone. On Monday, two suicide truck bombers attacked his reconnaissance scout unit's outpost in Iraq. The explosion killed nine soldiers from the ...

HeroFlags.org. A new program from HeroBracelets.

A few years back, a donor bought 100 HeroBracelets for a unit deployed in Iraq to honor one of their fallen. The unit (based here in Texas) all signed an Iraqi flag and sent it to the donor. We were talking about that and realized that could be an amazing way to raise money for The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. So we're asking all the service men and women we've heard from over the years to help. Get your unit to sign an Iraqi or Afgan flag and send it to us. We'll auction them on ebay and giv...

Why I wear a HeroBracelet.

During the Vietnam war, I wore a bracelet for a young soldier who was missing in action.  Years after the war, I kept the bracelet on my prayer table until one day I decided to search to see what happened to him.  I found he had been declared killed in action.  I researched to find his family and wrote them telling them of the bracelet and how long I had worn it.  I offered to send it to them if they wanted it.  His widow wrote back saying that would be really nice, so I turned the bracelet o...
