A Hero that left a long legacy.

Uncle Forrest, You will always be a hero to me and the Ramos family because of the ultimate sacrifice you made. As you will never know many family members serviced in the military after you. The one you would be proud of the most is Aunt RoseMary's daughter, your niece Tamara who went to West Point, graduate and then was deployed to Iraq. She lead 500 troops in the Iraq war and she is only 5'. Then she was the only woman in military history to hold a position on the Korean boarder. She retire...

Supporting “Adopted” Troops During Deployment.

Supporting “Adopted” Troops During Deployment My Name is Linda and I’ve been supporting our Troops for more than five years through Adopt A Platoon (www.adoptaplatoon.org).  I am currently supporting a Chaplain’s Assistant from my home town in Connecticut and a small platoon in Afghanistan.  I wear a Hero Bracelet for each Solider or platoon that I support.  As each deployment ends, I “retire” that Hero Bracelet and sign up to adopt another Soldier or small platoon. I also participate in seas...

My husband Clay Prescott was preparing to deploy to Iraq at the time of his death.  He was a former Marine and served in the Gulf War.  Later in life he joined the Army National Guard he said it was his calling to serve our country.  He was so excited about his upcoming deployment but unfortunantly never made it there before his untimely death.  He will remain forever in our hear

Our Hero. 1st. Lt. Joshua L. Booth, USMC

When our son, Josh, was killed in Iraq, his uncle adopted his dog, Roxy. In Josh's honor, my brother-in-law, Blackburn Booth and Roxy went through the grueling and intense "Search and Rescue" training program.  They are now certified and have been called in on several searches in Virginia -- we know that our son would be so proud that Roxy has continued Josh's legacy of "service". Debra Booth Proud Mom of 1st. Lt. Joshua L. Booth, USMC, KIA 10-17-2006, Hadithah, I

My Hero. SPC Kevin Rast.

Our Hero Bracelets were given to us by one of my childhood friend when my husband deployed to Iraq last year. My husband, SFC Kevin Rast, has been in the US Army for almost 20 years. He is the strongest, most humble man I know. He has told me that he joined the Army for no other reason than to serve his country. Not to be a hero, but a patriot. Over his career, he has been deployed to Kuwait, Jordan, Oman, Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Iraq. To him, a successful deployment is returning safely with...
